This position is 40 hours, 5-8hr shifts per week, M-F
The Advanced Practice Provider provides direct clinical care in Nuclear Cardiology and Molecular Imaging while delivering operational and professional management for a small to medium-sized team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and/or allied health professionals. This role balances hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of specialized imaging and stress-testing services.

Essential Functions:
Clinical Practice:
• Provides direct patient care as a Nurse Practitioner in Nuclear Cardiology and Molecular Imaging.
• Performs pre-procedure evaluations, risk stratification, and patient education for nuclear stress testing, PET/CT, PET/MR, and SPECT imaging.
• Oversees pharmacologic and exercise stress testing and manages adverse events or emergencies.
• Collaborates with attending physicians on clinical decision-making, documentation, and care coordination.
• Maintains clinical competency in radiopharmaceuticals, stress agents, and imaging-related protocols.
Leadership and Staff Management:
• Provides direct management and accountability for a team of APPs and/or allied health professionals.
• Recruits, hires, onboards, orients, and mentors APP staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development planning.
• Works closely with APP Lead to develop staffing schedules to support clinical volumes and operational needs.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance:
• Supports quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensures adherence to institutional policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety practices.
• Oversees compliance with documentation and APP billing requirements.
• Participates in incident reviews, root-cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
Education and Professional Development:
• Ensures ongoing education, competency validation, and clinical training for APP staff.
• Supports teaching and mentorship of trainees and new hires.
• Encourages continuing education and specialty certification.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Acts as a liaison between APPs, physicians, technologists, nursing, operations, and leadership.
• Collaborates to optimize workflow efficiency, patient throughput, and care coordination.
• Contributes to service line planning and operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• 5-7 years of NP or PA experience, required
• Advanced clinical experience in Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac Stress Testing, or Molecular Imaging.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory standards in procedural or imaging environments.
Preferred:
• Prior APP management experience.
• Experience with nuclear medicine or molecular imaging workflows.
• Familiarity with APP billing and compliance requirements.

-Ensures continuing education and teaching for APPs.
-Acts as liaison between the hospital, physician and nursing staffs, and other APPs.
-Ensures APPs are following proper billing compliance rules and methodology.
